ג'סמיט סינג סירה הוא תלמיד דוקטורט בתכנית משותפת של המחלקה לסוציולוגיה ואנתרופולוגיה באוניברסיטה העברית והמחלקה לפוליטיקה בסיינס פו בפריז. עבודת הדוקטור שלו עוסקת בחייהם של הדליתס (הקסטה הנמוכה ביותר) בראג'סטן- הודו. את העבודה מדריכים פרופ' נורית שטדלר ופרופ' כריסטוף ג'פרלו. 

Jusmeet Singh Sihra is pursuing his joint-doctorate in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University (Stage B) and in the Department of Political Science, Centre de Recherches Internationales, Sciences Po Paris.

His dissertation is titled ‘Relegation of Dalits in Urban India : a Study of Socio-Spatial Segregation in Ulajhpur' in which he studies the structural and interactional mechanisms that socially and spatially segregate the ex-untouchable (Dalit) castes in India. His other research interests include sociology of shared sacred shrines, and the regional and local politics of Rajasthan. Sihra is the recipient of the Departmental Scholarship of Excellence and the prestigious Presidential Fellowship at the Hebrew University. He is supervised by Professors Nurit Stadler (HUJI) and Christophe Jaffrelot (CERI, Sciences Po).
