המחקר שלה מתחקה אחר התהליכים הפוליטיים והחברתיים של תנועות חוץ-מוסדיות והקשר בין תהליכים אלו.

היא בוחנת איך קבוצות פעילים אשר לאחר ההתנתקות פרשו מתנועת ההתיישבות וממחנה השלום הישראלי פועלות, מחד גיסא, ברמה הפוליטית מול המדינה והשלטון הממלכתי, ומאידך מול גורמים חברתיים ותרבותיים בתוך ציבורים שונים בישראל. המחקר נשען על עבודת שדה אתנוגרפית בקצוות המחאתיות של החברה הישראלית ומפתח מסגרת תיאורטית ייחודית שמאפשר לבחון מדוע ואיך קבוצות מתארגנות ופועלות ברמה הפוליטית או החברתית ואת היחסים בין תהליכים פוליטיים קבוצתיים ותהליכי שינוי חברתי-תרבותי. המחקר שלה זכה לתמיכה מתכנית הופמן למנהיגות ואחריות, דרך מלגת נשיא המדינה למצוינות אקדמית ותכנית עמיתי עזריאלי לדוקטורנטים מצטיינים.

 

Perle Nicolle-Hasid is a PhD candidate in the department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Her research is supported by the Hoffman Leadership and Responsibility Fellowship, the Office of the President of the State of Israel and the Azrieli Doctoral Fellowship Program. By exploring how groups that have splintered from the Israeli peace movement and the settlement movement after the Gaza pullout engage on policy matters but also on numerous societal subjects that pertain to Israeli identity, Perle seeks to clarify the relationship between political and societal pursuits of social movements. Building on ethnographic fieldwork at the activist margins of Israeli society, her research develops an innovative theoretical framework to clarify why and how movements engage themselves into societal and political change processes.
